Preschool-Portfolio Review

The preschoolers took a look back at the year by flipping through their portfolio of reflections.  They chose a favorite one to display during next month’s celebration. They also decorated a cover for their portfolio.  Here’s some questions to ask them about the process:

*I wonder which reflection was your favorite?

*I wonder which story was your favorite?

*I wonder what you put on your cover to illustrate your portfolio and all you’ve learned about God?


K-1-A Dream of Heaven, from Revelation

*I wonder what it was like for John to be imprisoned for so long on an island? 

*I wonder what part of his vision of heaven was the most surprising? 

*I wonder what it felt like to be so close to God?

2-4-Acts 2:1-13, 42-46

*I wonder what it was like when they felt the blowing wind from heaven?

*I wonder how it felt to speak in a language you never have spoken before?

*I wonder how the apostles responded when people said they were drunk?

*I wonder what it was like to share everything they had with each other?

*Why did the disciples think Jesus was a ghost?  What made them change their minds about that?

*What does it mean when Jesus says “Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets, and the Psalms”?

*I wonder what the “power on high” will be?

The elementary classes took some time this Sunday to look back at the year in the portfolio and chose a favorite reflection.

*I wonder which reflection was my favorite from the year? 

*I wonder why the reflection was a favorite? What did I remember about the story? 

Middle School:

How can we know that Christ rose again? (John 20, The Case for Christ)

High School Community Group: 

Overview of Leviticus-Key Questions we asked:

1. What is the point of blood sacrifices and the temple?

2. What is the point of the law?

3. Are we still under the law today?  Why or why not?

We are currently meeting every Sunday night, alternating between a Scripture study and having dinner together and catching up on life and enjoying time together.
